The original Veterans Competition ran from 1989 to 2003.

Matches were played mid week and were played from about 4pm till about 8pm.

They were played as limited over matches with a maximum of 30 overs.

The first season was run as a knock out competition. Then until 1999 it was first past the post, then a finals series introduced.
